It may not be copied, rewritten, amended, shared or distributed in any way outside your own classroom. Please read the Terms of Use. The resource is free to download, but Terms of Use still apply. I like to have sets of super simple Italian vocabulary recall worksheets that my students can work on independently for both practice and revision, either in class time or for home learning. They’re really useful for embedding vocabulary, checking recall, and for reading, writing and accurate spelling in Italian. These four recall worksheets focus on 25 high-frequency Italian verbs, and feature four differentiated recall challenges: Challenge 1: translate and write the verbs in English from an Italian prompt; the Italian verbs are in alphabetical order Challenge 2: translate and write the verbs in Italian from an English prompt; the English verbs are in alphabetical order Challenge 3: translate and write the verbs in English from an Italian prompt; the Italian verbs are in random, rather than alphabetical order. This is really useful for vocabulary recall, as students often learn new vocabulary in alphabetical order. Challenge 4: translate and write the verbs in Italian from an English prompt; the English verbs are in random, rather than alphabetical order It’s really useful for language learners to be familiar with a broad range of key Italian verb vocabulary, and the worksheets provide a language learning map, enabling students to move on confidently to more complex language and texts, including authentic resources. At that point students can move swiftly on to looking at conjugation and using the verbs in a communicative and practical context, enabling them to produce more detailed and descriptive language. This is an integral element to successful language learning. The worksheets also work well as a vocabulary audit and enrichment. I give my students this Italian verbs list both as an answer key for independent checking, and as a reference resource - download it for free here: ITALIAN VERBS WORKSHEETS FREEBIE #1 https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/italian-verbs-list-freebie-1-12145518 Have a browse in my store for more super simple Italian vocabulary recall worksheets, and a wide range of other Italian teaching and learning resources, with Italian resource boxes, special offer bundles and lots of freebies. KS3 GERMAN SPEAKING KS4 GERMAN SPEAKING GCSE GERMAN SPEAKING CONVERSATION STARTERS FREEBIE 10 cards in question format Files are non-editable in a zipped format. The resource is copyright, all rights reserved. It may not be copied, rewritten, amended, shared or distributed outside your own classroom in any way. The license is a single-user license only. Please read the Terms of Use. The product is free to download, but Terms of Use still apply. Speaking is a language skill that learners tend to find very challenging, regardless of level, and increased engagement with language that requires them to both reproduce accurately language they are already familiar with, and to be creative with that language in order to produce new language is integral to successful language learning. The questions feature a range of tenses, such as the present tense, imperfect tense, conditional tense, and wenn + subjunctive + conditional clauses. There is also a significant amount of implicit input on a range of grammatical concepts, such as direct and indirect object pronouns, use of the subjunctive and so on. I include tenses we may not have formally covered, as the activity is not solely about practising language, but also about actively learning it. I encourage students to look for cues and clues in the questions themselves, and this certainly enables them to engage with new or unknown language successfully, and to progress in their learning. Questions formats are varied, to ensure maximum opportunity to work with the different ways to ask questions in German. Some questions seek to elicit very similar information, but are asked in different language: this avoids learners simply parroting learned responses to fixed prompts. I remind students that it is not necessary to tell the truth - the purpose is to create and produce accurate and realistic language. Students can prepare their responses in as much detail as possible on the accompanying planning sheet, remembering that these are conversation starters, so that once they have responded, they should then say something to continue the conversation going. Frequent and regular engagement with the activity brings the best results: with the planning sheet, students can create and prepare increasingly detailed and more complex responses, reflecting their learning progress. I definitely find it useful to read through the questions together as a whole-group, with students offering initial suggested responses. This ensures everyone can actually access the language, and they also benefit a lot from each others’ ideas. ESL EFL ENGLISH FOR CHILDREN BEGINNER ENGLISH HOW TO TELL THE TIME IN ENGLISH O’CLOCK ANALOGUE WORKSHEETS FREEBIE The resource is non-editable in a zipped format. It may not be copied, rewritten, amended, shared or distributed outside your own classroom. The license is a single-user license only. The resource is free to download, but Terms of Use still apply. I like to have sets of super simple worksheets that I can give to my young beginner learners of English, not only when they’re new to the target vocabulary, but also for refreshing and revising language they’ve learnt some time ago. Students can generally more easily assimilate new language and vocabulary when they are able to link it in their memory with a visual image, and it’s particularly important to match a clock time with the corresponding clock face when learning how to tell the time. I give my students these worksheets at the same time as introducing the time set, so that they can practise and embed both recognising the time, and writing the time phrase itself. Students really enjoy the opportunity to test their recall too. The worksheets are useful in a number of contexts: I use them for sub lessons, as starters, plenaries, five-minute refreshers and home learning activities. I occasionally use them for more formal assessment purposes too. ENGLISH VERBS LIST FREEBIE

ESL EFL ENGLISH VERBS LIST reference resource for students focusing on high-frequency English verbs. I’ve found that the lists are a great learning support resource, and they’re really popular with students too. They work well when students keep them carefully in learning files or folders for current and future reference. They also work well printed double-sided and laminated for small-group work in class. This list is a collection of 100 high-frequency and common English verbs that students generally need in the advanced beginning to intermediate stages of their English Language learning programmes. It includes regular and irregular verbs, with some modals. They are all in the infinitive form - it’s an important step in learning is to ensure that students quickly develop a useful vocabulary bank, are able to recognize English verbs, and are confident with the meaning of those verbs - at that point we can move swiftly on to looking at conjugation and using the verbs in a communicative and practical context. Students shouldn’t take on the task of learning the verbs all at once though - this is more of a longer-term reference resource that students can use to audit their developing English verb vocabulary. There are two backgrounds to choose from - England flag (which I tend to use as part of a grammar display), and black wave - students tell me that this makes vocab lists more visually appealing, which is really useful when they’ve got a lot of vocab to work through and learn. Have a browse in my store for more English vocabulary lists, and a wide range of other English language teaching and learning materials, with special offer bundles, resource boxes, and lots of freebies too! I like to give visual vocabulary lists to my young beginner learners of German, as they can generally more easily assimilate new language and vocabulary when they are able to***link it in their memory with a visual image***, and it’s particularly important to match a clock time with the corresponding clock face when learning how to tell the time. Children glue the lists into their German vocabulary books, or file them in their German vocabulary folders with other vocabulary lists, which gives them an accessible and useful German vocabulary reference bank for both class and home learning. For young and / or beginner German learners, I focus initially on a single time set, and this list shows quarter to the hour on a single page. This is because in my experience students benefit from a very clear outline of new language and vocabulary, avoiding lots of text on a single page - even my older students who are completely new to German prefer this. ITALIAN CONJUGATION PRACTICE SAMPLER

(2)
GCSE ITALIAN KS4 ITALIAN KS3 ITALIAN VERBS CONJUGATION PRACTICE FREE SAMPLER I’ve created a lot of ‘quick conjugation workbooks’ for my students and they’re really popular and effective. They’re a great way of practising, reinforcing and revising how to conjugate all the various verb groups, tenses and moods in Italian. I use them in a range of learning contexts such as independent work either in class time or at home, holiday refresher work, or individual activities for cover lessons. Students really benefit from several opportunities to work through the workbooks, once or twice a term across a whole school year is a great way of both mapping progress and developing overall understanding and competence. The workbooks focus on specific 25 essential Italian verbs in a range of tenses. They include modals, regular, and irregular verbs. Each workbook is structured as follows: Two alphabetical verb reference lists: Italian : English and English : Italian Three conjugation challenges, each with 50 individual conjugations: Conjugation Challenge 1: each verb conjugated across a range of pronouns, with students writing the corresponding English verb conjugation. Conjugation Challenge 2: gives the infinitive of each verb in Italian, specifying the target pronoun. Students write the corresponding verb conjugation. Conjugation Challenge 3: students write the corresponding Italian verb conjugation, and its infinitive, from an English prompt. Notes and Next Steps sheet, which encourages students to think about how their understanding of Italian conjugation works, what progress they have made, what their targets for improvement might realistically be, and what they might reasonably do in order to meet those targets. answer key The contents are as follows: Italian high-frequency verbs list: Italian-English Italian -ARE verbs list: English-Italian Italian -ERE verbs present tense conjugation: Challenge 1 with answer key Italian -IRE verbs perfect tense conjugation: Challenge 2 with answer key Italian -ARE verbs: imperfect tense conjugation: Challenge 3 with answer key Italian high-frequency verbs future perfect tense conjugation: Challenge 1 with answer key Have a browse in my store for more Italian grammar activities, and a wide range of Italian language teaching and learning materials, with special offer bundles, resource boxes, and lots of freebies too! It may not be copied, rewritten, amended, shared or distributed in any way outside your own classroom. Please read the Terms of Use. The product is free to download, but Terms of Use still apply. I like to ensure my beginner French students are able to build a comprehensive French vocabulary bank from the beginning of their learning, and create a whole range of reference lists focusing on high-frequency French vocabulary. The list is ideal as a year-round reference resource, and students find it useful for working in class time or at home. It’s also useful for***beginner French*** students to provide a language learning map, and as a French vocabulary audit and enrichment. This kind of reference resource works well when students keep them carefully in learning binders or folders for current and future reference. They also work well printed double-sided and laminated for small-group work in class. The vocabulary list also shows some plurals and related vocabulary that students are able to use in communicative contexts straightaway, such as au printemps and en hiver. It’s really useful for students to know the correct prepositions for these kinds of sentences, which really does help to promote speaking in the classroom, and enables students to produce more detailed and descriptive language. This is an integral element to successful language learning. Students shouldn’t take on the task of learning long lists of vocabulary all at once though: frequent and regular use in real-world practical contexts is far more successful at embedding vocabulary into longer-term memory. With this particular set of vocabulary there are many cognates and near-cognates, which helps embed the vocabulary too. Students can develop, embed, reinforce and refresh their knowledge of Spanish numbers in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, independently of the teacher. They have a bonus multi-skill focus on listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading and spelling. They’re great for helping students familiarize themselves with, and develop competence in, speaking, reading, writing and spelling longer words in Spanish. The cards are useful not only when you’re focusing on Spanish Numbers 0-100, but also for cover lessons, as an all-year-round starter, plenary and general ‘pick-me-up’ activity, as the goal is not simply to learn how to count in Spanish, but also to enjoy working with Spanish, and to feel confident about doing so. All questions are in Spanish, and range in complexity and challenge, both in terms of language and number skills. I’ve used visual prompts such as maths symbols to ensure all learners can engage with the questions, and this helps them to begin to infer meaning from context, and to decode cues and prompts to foster understanding. I don’t allow the use of calculators to increase the challenge a little. Some questions focus specifically on Spanish maths language, which students do not always engage with very often. The question card template enables students to apply their knowledge of language and arithmetic creatively and practically, which is integral to successful language learning. My students also genuinely enjoy creating questions for each other. These four my favourite colour posters make an ideal speaking prompt in the Primary German classroom - I encourage children to ask each other Was ist deine Lieblingsfarbe? as a lesson starter / warm-up, and to select a different colour every time they answer. As they learn more colours, their answers become more varied. I tend to introduce the plural form with the connective und (and) quite quickly, so that children can extend their answers as much as they possibly can - they have great fun seeing who knows the most colours, and can create the longest answers. The key colours are: blue, green, pink and yellow. There are two backgrounds to choose from - either the German flag, or black wave. Laminate the posters if possible, or print on card stock, particularly if you’re going to use them as flashcards to introduce and practise language too: they’ll hang really nicely, stay in good shape, and you’ll be able to use the posters for many years to come! I like to have sets of super simple Italian vocabulary recall worksheets that my students can work on independently for both practice and revision, either in class time or for home learning. They’re really useful for embedding vocabulary, checking recall, and for reading, writing and accurate spelling in Italian. These four recall worksheets focus on 25 high-frequency Italian adjectives, and feature four differentiated recall challenges: Challenge 1: translate and write the adjectives in English from an Italian prompt; the Italian adjectives are in alphabetical order Challenge 2: translate and write the adjectives in Italian from an English prompt; the English adjectives are in alphabetical order Challenge 3: translate and write the adjectives in English from an Italian prompt; the Italian adjectives are in random, rather than alphabetical order. This is really useful for vocabulary recall, as students often learn new vocabulary in alphabetical order. Challenge 4: translate and write the adjectives in Italian from an English prompt; the English verbs are in random, rather than alphabetical order it’s an important step in learning is to ensure that students quickly develop a useful Italian adjectives vocabulary bank, are able to recognize Italian adjectives, and are confident with the meaning of those adjectives in English - at that point we can move swiftly on to looking at adjectival agreement, producing more complex and descriptive language, and*** using the adjectives in a communicative and practical context***, which is essential for progressing in language learning. The worksheets also work well as a vocabulary audit and enrichment. I give my students this Italian adjectives list both as an answer key for independent checking, and as a reference resource - download it for free here: ITALIAN ADJECTIVES LIST FREEBIE #1 https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/italian-adjectives-list-freebie-1-12905692 Have a browse in my store for more super simple Italian vocabulary recall worksheets, and a wide range of other Italian teaching and learning resources, with Italian resource boxes, special offer bundles and lots of freebies. The product is free to download, but Terms of Use still apply. 25 high-frequency French verbs, listed alphabetically French-English and English-French ideal as a year-round reference resource, and students find it particularly useful for exam revision, whether working in class time or at home. It’s useful for advanced beginner French students to provide a language learning map and for intermediate French students who are working with more complex language and texts, including authentic resources, and as a vocabulary audit and enrichment. The verbs are all in the infinitive form and feature high-frequency French verbs that I work with in the advanced beginner to intermediate stages of my French learning programs. It’s important in language learning to ensure that students quickly develop a useful French verb vocabulary bank, are able to recognize high-frequency French verbs, and are confident with the meaning of those verbs in their first or home language. At that point students can move swiftly on to looking at conjugation and using the verbs in a communicative and practical context, enabling them to produce more detailed and descriptive language. This is an integral element to successful language learning. Students shouldn’t take on the task of learning long lists of verbs or other vocabulary all at once though: frequent and regular use in real-world practical contexts is far more successful at embedding vocabulary into longer-term memory. I also use the books for quick vocabulary quizzes, again at frequent and regular intervals - I simply shout out the French or English verb, the first student or team to shout out the correct answer wins a point. I’ve found this to be a really successful alternative to more formal vocabulary testing. The list is a great time-saver for teachers too - if you’re preparing resources focusing on high-frequency French verbs for your students, the list is a good starting point. There are two backgrounds to choose from - French flag, which I generally use for French vocabulary display or French grammar display, and plain.
